I'm Randy,
THE GUY BEHIND THE CANVAS
Hard to imagine that I started painting a short decade ago. Especially knowing the joy it brings me, how filled with emotion I am when creating a piece and for how much joy pieces of art can bring to others.
PAST
Born and raised in a small industrial city in Indiana, a Psychology degree from BSU, a dozen years in Dallas in the employee benefit business and then back home again in Indiana...Carmel specifically.
I'm a product of extreme good luck. Of course, good luck is often caused by hard work, fortunate decision making, following my heart and marrying well. I'm guilty of all that as well as being guilty of growing up in the best country in the world with a strong faith.
Gratitude, joy, hope, smiles, faith and passion ooze from my being. Although, I often have to pause and remind myself of that and a handful of extreme challenges growing up and failures along the way have spiced those attributes accordingly. How about you?
PRESENT
A recently retired serial entrepreneur, I am now a full time artist / philanthropist / husband / father...and my most important role, G-pa.
Days are filled mostly with activities that bring me joy. More importantly, things that bring others joy and predominantly in the areas noted.
I am a crazy adrenaline junkie, typically fulfilled with athletic driven gigs. Theater, musicals, music, art and most things creative are where we spend a lot of time. And then there's travel. And lots of it.
But mostly, I LOVE PAINTING!
INSPIRATION
It happens randomly and often.
Travel, sunsets, moments of joy / hurt / calm.
Curious...what inspires you??
MATERIAL PALLET
In a word...diverse!
Oil, of course. But acrylic has been a favorite lately sprinkled with water color, metallic, marker, pen and even bourbon, red wine, sand and ocean water.
Traditional canvas is my leading medium to paint on along with wood panels and metal. And I especially love vintage maps, music scores, old book pages. They become a piece of art themselves.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Every piece of art I produce and place in someones home is filled with emotion. And, I am incredibly honored and humbled with each piece purchased.
I hope it brings as much joy to you, as it does to me.
I LOVE TO PAINT!
